Are you planning a wedding? I don’t care if you’re a wedding planning pro or a do-it-yourselfer.  I’ll bet you aren’t using the web enough. If you do use it you will really be maximizing your opportunities to help make your wedding inexpensive.

The web has become the dominant way to shop for most everything today. You can just as easily use the web to find caterers, event halls, dressmakers, DJs, photographers, videographers–even a wedding planner if you decide to take a break from doing it all yourself.

Here’s how the web can help you on your quest to making your wedding inexpensive:

Local search – Local search technology has come a long way. Finding someone downtown can be as easy as finding someone anywhere. If you use Google, you only have to enter a name of the type of service you are looking for along with your city to get a list of local businesses. Try “wedding planner Orlando” (without the quotes) and see for yourself.

Deal with real people – The people you are buying from online aren’t “virtual.” They’re as real as the people you’d meet in person. In fact, especially with local business, the website is just a first contact. You can always call them up or arrange to meet in person.

Wedding information websites – There are many websites just like this one that are solely devoted to helping you plan out every aspect of your wedding planning. These same websites often have directories of wedding vendors arranged by location.

Forums and customer reviews – You wouldn’t buy a book on Amazon without reading a review a customer had left. Now you don’t have to buy your wedding needs that way, either.

You get it all in writing – Websites put a lot of information in writing. All of their written policies regarding shipping, warranties (if any), returns, and service will almost always be easy to access. (Hint: look for links to policies at the bottom of each web page.) The fact that everything is written down gives the vendor much less wiggle room to change the terms of the deal. Almost as good as the paper trail is the photograph trail–at least when it comes to merchandise. Save any relevant images along with the text.

The web has a lot of advantages over most other ways of discovering and evaluating wedding vendors. Do you want an in-demand wedding vendor, or one who has to set up a booth and hand out free samples? No offline source will ever have as many options as the web, whether it’s songs for the wedding reception or fabrics for the gowns.

To sum it all up, the web makes it much easier to get that perfect wedding and can really help make your wedding inexpensive.

4 Simple Ways To Preserve Your Sanity When Trying To Make Your Wedding Inexpensive

Posted by Charles Powers on 09 December 2009

Are you determined to make your wedding inexpensive? Then you have finally reached the right place to start on your journey to marital bliss.

If you are planning your own wedding, then you know the frustration of trying to keep your wedding inexpensive. It’s painful isn’t it? It can sometimes feel like you have a second job with all of the decisions and choices that you will encounter. A couple always wants the best for their wedding and that is one reason that things can get so frustrating and end up ruining your wedding budget.

Here are some simple tips that can help you preserve your sanity and stay within your wedding budget during this exciting, yet sometimes nerve wracking process.

Stay Focused - The most important task that you will have is to stay focused. Staying focused will help you make the right decisions; it is far too easy to get distracted by all those bright shiny objects you will encounter that can easily become budget busters. Don’t be spontaneous, take the time to sleep on things and talk them over alone before you make your buying decisions.

Don’t Take On Too Many Tasks - There is a lot involved in wedding planning and it is very easy to begin to feel overwhelmed which can lead to bad decision making and break your wedding budget. Make a list and divide up the tasks before you start checking into things. If you can enlist the help of friends and family it will make things so much easier on you and cause you less stress.

Don’t Overspend - Remember your goal. You are trying to make your wedding inexpensive. Be sure and price check at least three different options before making a choice. Sometimes the least expensive option is not always the best option but you will never know where you are getting the best quality for the best price unless you do your due diligence. There is no worse feeling than making a purchase and then finding out later on that you paid far too much than you should have.

Take Time Out For Each Other - Take time to share your love for each other. Planning a wedding can very easily dominate your lives as well as your conversations. Make a date night with each other and agree not to discuss the wedding plans. A lot of times couples can become very stressed with each other when wedding planning so it is very important to make sure that you take a time out for each other.

Trying to make your wedding inexpensive can be challenging and sometimes a real hassle. If you follow these very simple steps you’ll at least preserve your sanity during what could be one of the most taxing times of your life. Don’t forget a wedding should be a memorable and happy time and love is forever.
